Retail & Arts Sales Assistant (Part-time)
About the role
The Royal Academy is recruiting a Retail and Art Sales Assistant for its shops at Burlington House, Piccadilly. The RA Shops are a well-loved part of the RA visit, and this role provides frontline customer service and sales within a specialist retail team, with a focus on art sales, product knowledge, customer advice and the fulfilment of art and editions sold onsite and through the RA Shop online. Offered part-time at 27 hours per week. Applications are made through the RA's online application portal.
Responsibilities
- Provide frontline customer service and sales across the RA shops
- Advise customers on art, editions and specialist products
- Process sales, customer information, stock and fulfilment administration accurately
- Maximise sales and trading opportunities as part of an expert retail team
Essential requirements
- Proven retail experience
- Excellent sales skills in a specialist, fast-paced commercial environment
- Strong customer service skills and an adaptable, friendly manner
- Highly organised and methodical when processing sales, customer information, stock and fulfilment
- Strong attention to detail
Nice to have
- Commercial gallery, art sales or other specialist product experience
