About the role

Ben Sherman is looking for a Junior Designer to join its head office design team in Leeds. You will play a vital role in generating new ideas and designs, taking initial research through to sketches and full tech packs under the direction of the Brand Director, and collaborating with designers, buyers and tech teams to develop and launch new products. Responsibilities

  • Compile competitor and trend research through the design process
  • Map out ideas on range boards for key brands for reviews and presentations
  • Create digital colour palettes seasonally and select pantone shades with the design team
  • Create and update design packs in Illustrator, liaising with product development
  • Update artworks and review fabric handlooms and colour strike offs for approval
  • Attend design meetings and fit sessions, following through on developments
  • Prepare and organise samples for presentations and set up seasonal range line-books

Essential requirements

  • Around two years of design experience, or a portfolio that shows equivalent menswear design ability
  • Strong illustration and technical drawing skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Adobe CC on Mac
  • Comfortable building and updating tech packs
  • Confident working to deadlines alongside buyers and product teams
